From Zero to Hero?

Well, its been a while since I’ve posted anything on here but I guess I can come back to talk about some good news. Might have bitten off a little more than I can chew but, I have signed up to run my first marathon.

Things have been a little shitty on the home front so I definitely  needed some sort of outlet that I could focus on. You know how sometimes things are out of your control and you need something you can actually control and, hopefully, have it go right? This is that situation for me.

Not only that but I’m also trying to work on my fitness — I have office body really bad right now. I have found it easier in the past to have a finish line to cross – it helps to keep me focused in the long-term, which is where I’ve had the most trouble. I used to run before and actually trained and ran a half-marathon but haven’t really run too much since so, I figured, why not?

My only goal with this really is to cross the finish line within the 6 hour time limit which would be roughly a 13:44 mins/mi average. Honestly, if I can come in under 5 hours, that’ll be amazing!

In case you’re interested in following me on this trek, I’ll probably only really be checking in every week or so. Like what could I possibly have to say about my training everyday except for, like, “I ran five minutes longer than yesterday”? I’ll also check in when I’ve hit big milestones along the way like running a 5k, 10k, Half (13.1 miles) and a 20 mile race.

So, here’s hoping I don’t die along the way or shit my pants because I guess that’s a thing that happens to marathon runners.
